Arning Template (Shelby Drop) for 1967 - 1973 Mustang (with 17/32" Drill Bit)
Arning Template (Shelby Drop) for 1967 - 1973 Mustang (with 17/32" Drill Bit)
This template known as the Arning Drop, Shelby Mod, or Shelby Drop is designed to work with the 1967 - 1973 Mustang and it relocates the mounting point for the Upper Control Arm to provide a better roll center, a small bump in negative camber, and a little more positive caster for these cars.
This template is designed to be used on both the driver passenger side, with the arrow cut in the template pointing towards the front of the car when in use. Template moves Upper Control Arm down one inch, on each side of the car. Works on 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973 Mustangs, also 1966 and 1967 Fairlane. May work on other Ford/Mercury models from 1967-1977, but do your research first.
Simply unbolt the upper control arm, bolt the template in place where the existing upper control arm holes are located, and use the 3/32" drill guide holes to mark where the new 17/32" holes are to be drilled. Once the new holes are located and drilled, remove the template and finish drilling the holes with a 17/32" drill bit (included in this kit). Reattach the Upper Control Arm into the newly drilled holes and secure it with the factory nuts. It is recommended that an alignment be done after doing this modification.
Template is made in the USA and from a beefy piece of 14 gauge Stainless Steel, and can be used on many cars. Kit includes a new 17/32" drill bit with the template.
One template per order, you only need one for your car.
