Electric Fan Override Switch with Relay!

It's a good idea to have the option to turn on your electric fan(s) in the event your temperature sensor becomes inoperable and fails to trigger the fan(s) for cooling.

This switch has two positions, one for "Auto" which lets the electric fan(s) to be triggered by the current trigger method, and the second position is for "Override" which allows for the fans to be triggered be activating this toggle switch.  Most electric fan setups rely on a relay to provide power to the fan(s), this switch intercepts the ground wire for that relay.  The ground wire from the relay connects to the center post of this toggle switch, one of the two outer terminals connects to the currently installed temperature switch, and the other outer terminal connects to a good ground.

Hole for Toggle switch: must be 1/2" diameter

This toggle switch is designed to be used with a relay system to power your electric fan(s) and be installed in line of the ground wire for the relay.  This toggle switch is not setup to be installed in between the power wire from the battery to the fan(s).  Please do your own research to determine if you can use this toggle switch to override the operation of your electric fan(s).

The included relay is designed to power a single fan while still allowing manual override via the switch. It is rated for 40 amps of continuous use—ensure that your fan's current draw does not exceed this rating. Please note that the wire colors on the included relay harness differ from those shown in the video; however, the terminal numbers remain consistent, which is the critical detail for proper installation. The relay also features a convenient mounting tab, with slotted sides that allow multiple relays to be joined together in a row.

If you are using two or more Fans, it is recommended you use an individual Relay for each Fan, unless the cumulative amperage for all Fans are at or below 40 Amps.

What you get:  One toggle switch, one adhesive-backed placard for labeling switch, wiring to aid in installation, mounting nuts, black toggle cover for stealth look.  You will also get one standard automotive 12V 40A relay with wiring harness.
